A War Medal To Private William Arthur Lawson, No.2 Construction (The ‘Black Battalion’) Newly Listed then served in the PacificSilver Medal bearing 1914 1918 on obverse with bust of King George V on reverse, inscribed 2356803 PTE W A LAWSON CFC [Canadian Forestry Corps] along the bottom, measuring at 36. 1mm (w) x 45. 9mm (h to top of suspension) and weighing 34. 6 grams, with original ribbon, in extremely fine condition. Footnote: Private Lawson, born 1899 in Wellington County, Ontario, was described with a Black complexion upon enlistment in 1918.
