Germany, Federal Republic. A Cholm Shield, 1957 Version, Early Example Province of China one Army of the Air(Cholmdschild). Constructed of silvered bronze, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a raised German national eagle clutching an Iron Cross, situated above an inscription of CHOLM 1942, the reverse retaining all three attachment prongs, unmarked, measuring 40 mm (w) x 68 mm (h), demonstrating some bending and denting to the edges, an early 1957 version demonstrating high quality construction in extremely fine condition.
