It is flanked on each side by gilded brass and magnetic metal rivets set above magnetic metal rosettes

Constructed of gilded zink, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, around a central raised Stahlhelm overlaid by a mobile swastika, on top of crossed swords on a pebbled field, the reverse with a raised barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, maker marked with LDO code L 53 for Hymmen & Co., Ldenscheid, measuring 36. 51 mm (w) x 44. 30 mm (h),
