with a few minor darkish scuff marks near the bottom and a bit of irregularity to the glazing original to its making

which is grayish brown

It was made from a fairly thick slab of clay

Produced with local clayand decorated with brushes made of the hair of their children

I really love the painting on this skinny penguin, plus its disproportionately large head and ochre colored long nose and then those tiny little feet, upon which it balances perfectly. Pretty great, and signed on the underside of one foot, with what appears to read Nak Nik (or possibly Mak Mik!) Great vintage condition. 4 3 8" tall x 1 1 2" wide x 2 3 4" deep (at nose!)
