Standing 12 1 2" tall and 3 1 2" wide this is the classic French WW1 Artillery Casing in brass of the classic French 75 mm artillery piece. The outer surface has been fully engraved with what looks like a Crown over a rampant Lion surrounded by foliage. The Shell Case primer is dated with its manufacture date of 1914, however the Trench Art is prominently dated "1917" over a banner engraved in large letters: L'UNION FAIT
