Still in use by the time WW1 came in 1914 but was much outclassed by the Mauser and Enfield rifle systems introduced in the late 1890s

The British called this system Rifle Muzzle Loaders

Bayonet is WD marked and dated 1889 with various inspector and acceptance markings

This example still retains:

Model C and D were purpose built percussion muskets but had the "Old Series” side locks with differing trigger guard styles
