This is a fantastic example of a small XXII Corps, 3rd Division badge as worn on the various types of uniform caps of the Union Army. The badge measures approximately 1 x 1 and is in great shape for the age. There is material loss due to age, wear and mothing but it still retains its proper appearance. Corps badges in the American Civil War were originally worn by soldiers of the Union Army on the top of their army
