First generation Plains Indian drawings from the second half of the 19th century

It looks to me that this ruler was made entirely from scratch

But they'd also deliver a nice pop of color at the end of a bed or on the back of a sofa

I am not entirely certain as I'm not especially adept at identifying metals but it seems likely to me the body of the piece is bronze and the base and lid brass

But if they don't quite succeed in their humor, I think they do in the manner of they drawings, the navet of which of course I really love! Good fun. 5 1 18" x 5" and in very good condition. Done in pencil on the back of a report card!
