This is a semi cylinder transport box that was designed to contain a flare pistol and multiple flares. it was issued to members of the Luftwaffe for their survival packs. It is nicely labeled Notsignalbehlter which means "container for survival or emergency" and is a semi cylinder box in which a failure gun and flares ware stored. It was part of a Luftwaffe survival. The cylinder measures 13" H x 4" W
