This is a very nice "field made" German WWII cap, made using "captured" Italian M29 camo material. This allowed a much better camouflage profile than the standard tan or field gray color. Combined with the comfort of a field cap, they were relatively popular, and many were made in field workshops, so they were produced in countless styles. This example has an elongated front brim for more effective sun protection.
