I don't believe there was ever a cover

Quite an expressive and soulful face on this hand-sculpted vessel

as if long ears trailing behind this dog as he runs

What makes this good to me is that fact that it was left unpainted

Antique French Portieux Vallerysthal Faceted Opaline Glass Vessel with Gold Stars ceramic figure on horse I don't believe there wasI don't usually pay much attention to glass, but I saw this and swooned; to my eye a completely lovely thing, with opaline glass the more perfectly radiant, otherworldly sort of surface to bear a field of hand painted golden stars. In perfect condition, this just feels like a gift of a thing. Early 20th c. I believe, with "France P. V" painted in gold on the underside. 2 3 4 t x 2 1 4 w and in excellent condition.
