I found a near exact match of this sweet old tin kangaroo that had been sold by an antique toy specialist online for $75

and porcupine quills popping out everywhere--at an antique shop in Newburyport

so it is possible this was a fold out but I am not sure

It's quite different from every view--mostly blue from one side

It was made to hang (the hanging loop is original to it), such that gravity forces the slider down to rest on top of the lower ball, but when laid on its side it can be positioned however one likes.
