and on 1 September shifted to Tokyo Bay where she witnessed the official surrender ceremony the next day

The registry was was based at the Brown house in Munich and NSDAP party headquarters in Berlin

Recently purchased at a militaria show, this is a genuine USGI bring back central insignia rondel from a German WWII NSDAP National Flag, measuring 36" in diameter. It is a piece of white circular fabric with a printed dyed black NSDAP swas emblem, which looks to have been sewn onto a flag originally. It was cut off in 1944 by USGIs as they advanced into France, and is marked as follows: SOMEWHERE IN FRANCE AUGUST
