I first grabbed this wooden egg for its beautiful exterior

but never a whole album of them

perhaps it held his preparatory notes and research for it

And all sorts of things sit in and on it well, with the high back a good support to lean against. 5 3 8 w x 6 5 8 t x 3 7 8 d. Late 19th c. or so, I believe and in good, very sturdy condition.
