I found this piece at an estate sale in Marblehead

in what appears to be pencil on the back

Antique Carved Wooden Mixing Paddle or Spatula with Glorious Patina New York Another wonderful boxOn a recent antiquing expedition to Maine I became pretty obsessed with old wooden spoons and paddles, resisting most until I came across this one wow, is it beautiful! Photos cannot do justice to its patina it is worn super smooth, with an incredible sheen just spectacular. I think it is very old, perhaps 18th century in fact, and really love the shape of it, with a nice long handle, notched details and middle and end, and wonderfully shaped "blade."
