This is a very nice cased example of a War Merit Cross KvK 1st Class in Silver with swords, manufactured by Klein & Quenzer A. G. of Idar Oberstein in Western Germany. This mid war example in cast zinc alloy has a lovely patina, and still has most of the original silver wash present on both sides, showing oxidation in the recessed areas.
