The name of the species--in this case it looks to be "Russ dagueletti" is incised on the bottom of the piece

smiling creatures-- and habitat-sharers in real life--a perfect match

and so feels as if revealing something about the spirit of the subject

and would guess that living in Maine might have had a particular affection for the bluebird--and this one feels perhaps a bit older than the others

Made of celluloid with embossed brass around the sides and the image a hand colored engraving printed on cloth. I am not completely certain if a patch box, for beauty marks to be adhered to the face, or for rouge powder, but I believe one or the
