The top flap was closed by means of a metal eyelet and cloth tab closure

inlets for barrel springs & bands

The shoulder buttons are fitted with tropical Kriegsmarine shoulder boards for a Maat

The scabbard is steel with a clip on the reverse for attachment to a belt

Shoulder scales were originally designed to be a form of body armor

This is an original WW1 German Model 1915 infantry canteen in good condition with an original corduroy cover and cup. The steel clasp strap has broken off of the canteen, but otherwise there is just staining and oxidation. Earlier models came with a shoulder strap but this model did not, only with a steel clasp. The inside metal is steel, it has a curved shape and has some dents, but we cannot remove the corduroy
