but a portion of the paper across the back has been torn open

looking like very deliberate

Feels like Gordon Polison, who signed his name to the back on April 17, 1947, felt a lot of love for these dogs. With one of them also looking kind of like a lamb. I'd guess a school project. A tender thing. 8 1 4" x 7" x 3 4" and in very good condition, light stain varnish over the wood, very simply wired on he back for hanging.
