Just received out of an old attic, along with about a hundred other guns, this is a typical example of an Austrian Musket imported for the civil war. This lock is faintly dated 855 for 1855, along with an Austro Hungarian Empire Eagle proof on the lock plate tail. Markings on the lock indiciate that at one point it definitely had a flash pan and frizzen, so this was converted from Flintlock to Percussion for the
