I found these little old squirrel hair brushes at an antique shop in New Hampshire and just thought they were great looking

certainly it is hard to look at a face like this one and not start generating stories

I am completely enchanted by its intricate nest of forms

I think the carved and painted face on this guy is just terrific

Definitely it was done many years ago--in magic marker I believe--as the paper is pretty brittle
