1924 Bavaria Germany Landsberg Lech Witches Corner Tile - ORIGINAL GR3 ITALY2 This is a beautiful originalThis is an original 1924 photogravure of The "Hexenwinkle" or witches' corner, in Landsberg on the Lech in Bavaria, Germany. The "hexenwinkle" was given its name when, in medieval times, a red haired resident was accused of being a witch. Visible is one of the three towers in the city, and the oldest tower, called the Schmalzturm (Beautiful Tower). Built in 1260, it was named for the brightly colored tiles decorating the roof.
